What's with this white stuff?

Texas...February...Snow! Why not?
I think this may be like the 4-5th snowfall we have had this winter. Although this was defintely the most so far. The kids were super excited and didn't waste anytime throwing snowballs, building a 4tf. snowman
(see slideshow) trying very hard to build a fort like daddy use to do when he was a kid, but there was not quite THAT much. Coming inside only for some hot chocolate then right back out again. The icing was that school was delayed till 10:30 the next morning so of course sleeping in....well who doesn't like that? Gavin has not been feeling well these days so we rushed him out to grab of few snap shot momentos.
He will one day realize what a special occasion this was.
Snow in Texas...who woulda thought!

Batter Up!!

ready for the steal!
He made it! WHEW...

First games are always so exciting...gets everyone pumped for the entire season! You expect baseball in Texas to be a nice 70degrees in the evening hours, however not on this particular night....it was a very chilly, windy 40!
Of course we bundle up and cheer em' on. Especially this game because it was Seans first game on the Varsity team. He will mainly be playing 3rd base and doing some relief pitching.
He is uber excited and we are very proud.
Oh, How did it go you ask?
WE WON! 7-3 AND our little freshman got the last OUT!
Way to go Sean!

A Camo Valentine!

Raegan decided that she wanted a Camo Valentine box for school this year.  So she took an old t-shirt then cut it to fit appropriately and stuffed the top with batting from one of her old stuffed animals. She lined the sides with fur trim, cut out the seams of the shirt to make seams on the corners of the box.  Where exactly she dreams up these ideas is far from me, but it was certainly original and definately very cute!
Apparently her classmates thought so too because she won Kids Choice Award!
Since we were being so creative I thought I would attempt one myself (bright pink fur and polka dots).  Certainly not as intricate, however they were a lot of fun to make.  We also made some heart shaped rice krispie treats some of which I dipped in white chocolate...
(be warned those were VERY sweet if you have never tried them before). Robert was home and decided that he wanted a Turkey dinner that evening.  So what did we do...
well we had Thanksgiving Dinner of course!
Hope everyone had a fabulous Valentines!

Pardon Me while I change my mind.. (HA)

I realized just today that I have been making many changes to this new creation of mine (this blog).  You know how it goes with any 'hobby' you find so many new little gadgets and tricks.  I decided originally to start a blog for our family as a way for them to keep up with our coming & goings. In large part, it still is for that very reason, however it is also for me.  A way for me to reflect as I write on any given subject (what am I saying- it is mainly about my kids) giving me a deeper appreciation of the events that occur day to day.  I find myself thinking of writing down some of the silliest things that I see and hear everyday. Like Gavin unraveling an entire roll of toilet paper all over the bathroom floor - which all 3 have done.
That being said, I am looking for something I think refelcts me the most- serious with a hint of sarcasm and a drop of sweet.  So pardon me while I mix things up.  Hopefully I will decide on a final layout and be done....oh who am I kidding
Till next time....-Julie-

Snow Day in Texas... Gotta Love it!

Raegans snow angel..

You can look out the window one minute and the sun will be shining, look again and there just might be SNOW? That is the weather in Texas- you never know what may happen next.  Snow is exactly what was falling from the clouds on Thursday night.  We did not get quite as much as other areas like Dallas, but we definately took advantage of the amount that we did receive.  We are no longer equipped with the proper winter essentials ie. hats, scarves and gloves, but Raegan put on my winter jacket, went outside and had herself a grand time! It reminded us of how much we love to watch snow falling and how pretty everything looks with a fresh dusting.  I think this may have been the 3rd time this winter that snow has fallen. Hey it's only February- winter is not over yet!!  We are not complaing one bit- the sun will once again be scorching us this we know for sure.   Good times

Till next time....-Julie-
